stained glass window at the funeral service and I was reminded of hope and faith.
The gently, dancing light beams of rich , jewel tones caressed the church in the ancient
promise made to Noah of light at the end of the flood, of brighter days ahead,
As I tuned back in to the mass, I heard the words of the song being sung. As the tears
renewed their vigor of filling up my eyes, I heard the voice of Jerry, the dearly departed,
joining his voice with the others , in verse, to sing "and in dying we are born to eternal life".
It was then, that I had to
smile through the tears and got a glimpse of him in spirit form, smiling and holding both
hands up, by his side, in seeming gratitude and joy, and my heart smiled.
Just a few days before Jerry had transitioned to the other side of the veil, and as we sat
with his wife that night, weeping in protest at his departure, I had looked up to see him
standing joyfully by us, next to his back door in the family room where we all sat, observing
us. He looked so happy and vibrant.
The next day he told me to let his daughter know to
keep using her paintbrush/pencil, that he's proud of her talent as an artist.
Later on, while waiting in line at the
viewing, he let me know that he felt a special devotion to the Virgin Mary . About an hour
after that, as I prayed in front of his casket, he mentioned that the tie and shirt he was
wearing for his viewing were in the pale blue of the Virgin Mary, and that it made him happy
to have Mary's color on.
God bless Jerry- precious, joyful spirit.
May we all find the rainbow promise of good things ahead and see the signs of hope when
our path gets rocky and tears flood our vision.
Love, light and shine bright,
Kristy
